To the best Chest Wench everDrunkenFerretCrew

It is with great sadness but unwavering love that the crew must bid farewell to Sandra Gilbert-Everett, also known as our amazing chest wench Azure Skye, who passed away on Monday after suffering a brain aneurysm. She truly was the Ship’s Matron — always ready with medicine when our bodies ached, encouraging words and a smile when our hearts ached, knew everyone and was known by everyone, and was ready and willing to show you around the Faire when you had never gone and go again with you whenever you wanted.

No matter what — if any — afterlife you may believe in, you can agree that as long as she is remembered and celebrated, she is never truly gone. She lives on in the hearts and minds of her friends and family.

Beloved wife, mother, counselor, chest wench and friend
“Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight and ripened grain.
I am the gentle Autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circling flight ~
I am the soft star shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there ~ I did not die.”

The Drunken Ferrets rock out to “Rock Lobster”DrunkenFerretCrew

Some of you may not know (or may have forgotten) that last year for Talk Like a Pirate Day we decided to challenge ourselves by giving the people over at the Cover Me blog a chance to vote for a song that we would cover. They chose a little diddy by the B-52s called “Rock Lobster”, and here a little over a year later (What can we say? Piracy is a busy job!) it’s complete!

We’ll let Black Dog explain further. In the meanwhile, you can find the song here: Pirates for Sail Go Nautical on “Rock Lobster” (Cover Me Premiere).

Or just listen to it here!
